Prettie Embossing!

I have two challenges for you! If you are looking for the La-La Land Crafts Sketch Challenge, please scroll down or click HERE!

Hello Prettie peeps! It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop!

If you didn't hop onto my blog via Kristy's blog, then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie's blog. You are not going to want to miss a thing!

Today's challenge comes to us from Heather.  Her challenge for us is “Embossing”. You can heat emboss or dry emboss! I chose to do both.

The stamps I used for my card this week are “Apple Of My Eye” which is featured as the special this week. It is 20% off! "Apple of My Eye Scripture" is also on sale this week!

I decided to join in on the fun over at The Pink Elephant. They are having a sketch challenge. I love this sketch!

Here's my card! I dry embossed Sugar Rush (Basic Grey) paper with Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug) embossing folder. If you look closely, you will see that I used VersaMark pad over the "bowl" and heat embossed it with Glassy Glaze embossing powder. I did this process twice to get a smooth surface.

All you have to do is make a project following this weeks sketch and upload it to the Paper Pretties Gallery. We would love to see what you create, so be sure to upload your creation using keyword PWC92!

Now it's time to hop over to Jennifer and see what she has created for this challenge!

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Here's my card! I used Sweet Friends Rosie... she is one of my faves!

IDOS Winter Card Olympics FINAL EVENT - Every second counts!

Hello everyone, and welcome to our 5th and final Winter Card Olympics challenge here on I Dream of Stamping! This challenge is a TIME challenge. We are challenging you to make a card in 10 minutes (you get 15 if you need it... for example, Jana had a sleeping baby on her shoulder!) This is of course on the honor system, but we think you'll have fun seeing just what you can create in a time crunch!!

I have to admit that I did not count the coloring of my image into the time frame. It took me about five minutes to color this and then a couple of more minutes to cut it out. I did start the time as soon as I started to trim the image out. Somehow, I managed to whip this card up in just under 10 minutes! 15 minutes if you count the time it took to color with Copics. Oh my... you should see my craft room! It is a MESS!

I used one of my favorites... Pink Cat Studio! I used Fairy Lily from the Enchanted Lily. I found a few scraps of Sugar Rush (Basic Grey) designer paper in my collection and put them over white Stamper's Select (Papertrey) cardstock. I roughed up the edges quickly with my fingernail... no time to pull out any fancy tools! LOL! I take that back. I did pull out my ScallopTrim Border Punch (Stampin' Up) to quickly punch out a pretty border. Pretty in Pink satin ribbon (SU) completes the card and accents the wavy border along the bottom of the second layer.

Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU) sparkles on Lily's fairy wings.
Copics used: 0, E0000, E00, E01, E17, R32, Y11, YG03, G03, G28, BG0000.

I ADORE Pink Cat Studio! I want to also take a moment to thank Melissa again for this post on her Pink Cat Studio Blog.
I had submitted a card for her Paper Piecing Contest in January and I won!!

Thank you!!

Okay! Now it's your turn!
Hop on over to I Dream of Stamping (IDOS) and check out the details!

Hugs!

IDOS Winter Card Olympics Challenge #4 - CURLING

Welcome to another "I Dream of Stamping" Winter Card Olympics challenge! Challenge #4 is CURLING! You can curl paper, ribbon, or whatever else you want to curl! Just be sure to include HOW you have used curling on your card in the description. Make your project and then enter the challenge over at I Dream of Stamping for your chance to win a prize!

I curled some designer paper strips and made the curls into the tails of a bow. Just run thin strips of paper over closed scissors or twirl tightly around something long, thin, and round (like the needle part of a paper piecer). Do it slowly so as not to tear the paper or wrinkle it. If there are two layers to the paper, the bottom one might peel off, making it thinner and easier to work with.

Aren't these Pure Innocence girls from My Favorite Things, just ADORABLE?!!

Hop on over and visit with Jana and Michelle to see how they "curled"! Don't forget to visit I Dream of Stamping to see all of our challenges and join in on the fun!

I can't wait to see what you come up with!

IDOS Winter Card Olympics Challenge #3 - Ice, Ice, Baby!

Ok Card Olympians, let's get frosty!! For this challenge, we want to see some ICE! Jana's favorite ice on cards is iridescent ice and the faux diamond dust technique. We'd love to see YOUR favorite ways to include ice or snow on your cards!

Head over to I Dream of Stamping Challenge #3 with your Icy entry before 5pm PST on February 28th for your chance to win the Paper Pretties stamp set S.W.A.K.!!

I used the adorable stamp, Building Snowman Maya from La-La Land Crafts. I stamped it with Tuxedo Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I used Copics to color the image. A "frame" was punched out with a square punch. I used this frame over my stamped image and used my VersaMark ink pad to ink up the open area (over the stamped image). Then I poured Iridescent Ice all over it. Here's what it looks like before I heated it up:

Then I heated it up until it looked like this (I think I may have overheated it a bit):

Here's my final card and a closeup:

Come play along with us!

IDOS Winter Card Olympics Challenge #2 - Heat Embossing!

Have you been watching the Olympic games? Brrrr!
We are already on challenge #2 over at "I Dream of Stamping" blog. This time, we're challenging you to get warmed up after watching all that ice and snow and do some HEAT EMBOSSING!

We would love to have you play along with us! The prize for this challenge is the level II Occasions mini catalog hostess set Picnic Parade in clear mount form. You have until February 28th to link up your entry HERE. All winners will be posted on our I Dream of Stamping blog on March 1st!

I used the darling "Look Who's Perky" stamp set from Paper Pretties. I stamped the swirly frame in Tuxedo Black (Memento) on designer paper from Daisy Bucket. Then I cut the frame out by hand. I used VersaMark ink pad over the entire frame and then sprinkled Glassy Glaze embossing powder (SU). After I heated it up, it looked like this:

Then I stamped the coffee cup and mug in black Staz-On and stamped it over the glazed frame. I stamped the cup, mug, and sugar bowl on misc. scraps of designer paper by Daisy Bucket and cut them out by hand. Dimensionals were used to pop them up onto the glazed frame.

Here is my final card!

Come play with us! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Sweet Friends Rosie sees RED

Hi everyone! I am SO excited! Today, I get to host both challenges! To see the Paper Pretties CASE Challenge and blog hop, please either scroll down to the next post or click HERE.

Welcome to another La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!

It's Jane and I am your hostess for La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge #26!
It's a color challenge in honor of Valentine's and Chinese New Year.

This week, I want to see what you do with RED. Pull out the red cardstock, red ribbon, red brads, red bling... I want to see RED! Of course it's fine to add other colors but red should be the main color.

I decided to join in on the fun at Mojo Monday (sketch below) and Crazy 4 Challenges C4C24 (RED).

Isn't a fabulous sketch?
Here's my RED Sweet Friends Rosie card using the sketch...

You have a change to win Sweet Friends Rosie! Seriously!!
Hop on over to La-La Land Crafts for all of the details.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Bring on the RED!!

hugs,

PWC91 - Crafty Emergency... CASE'ing Julie!

Welcome to Prettie Wednesday! I am so excited!! Today's challenger is ME! I am so excited that I get to host TWO challenges in one week... and on the same day! Now how often does that happen?!

Before I get started, I just want to let you know that if you didn't get here from Kristy Ketterlin's blog, then you might want to start at the very beginning with Christie Ortman's blog... you won't want to miss all of the wonderful DT creations!

I have a CASE challenge for PWC91. Here's what you have to do:

1) Look into your favorites here in the PP gallery and CASE a card that you love. (CASE means to "Copy and Share with Everyone" or something else but I don't like to think of it that way).

2) Change at least 2 of the things on the card... color combination, embellishments, image, etc.

3) Mention what it is about the card that you really love.

4) Be sure to link to the original card and give credit where credit is due so that you are not "Copying and Stealing Everything".

You have until next Tuesday night to make your card using Paper Pretties stamps and upload it to the Weekly Challenge Gallery (use keyword PWC91) at Paper Pretties.

I had a hard time deciding which card to CASE. The Prettie Girls are ALL really talented and to narrow it down to just one was tough! It took a couple of days but I finally decided on this adorable card by Julie Masse.

What I love about this card is what she did to the sketch that was used as the inspiration for this layout. She turned it on its side! I also love that she used the darling "Snow Snuggles" image for a Valentine's card.
Here's the sketch that we had used for PWC , hosted by Frances:

Here is my CASE of Julie's card:

I changed the image to the Crafty Emergency set. (Crafty Emergency and Game On are on sale this week for 20% off and as an added treat our Queen & Company tabs are on for 35% off!)
I also changed the knitted hearts to buttons with heart blings. Instead of heart brads, I used small pink heart blings. Julie had used circle nesties and I opted for square nesties.

It's time to hop over to visit Jennifer Greco to see what she has come up with for this CASE challenge!

I'm looking forward to seeing who you decide to case!

xx

I Dream of Stamping - 2010 Winter Card Olympics Begin!

The 2010 Winter Olympics are well under way in Vancouver!

The 2010 Winter Card Olympics has officially started over at I Dream of Stamping! Our first challenge to you is a color challenge! Create a card using the colors of your favorite country's flag, or, using the colors from the Olympic Logo (Green Galore, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Yoyo Yellow and Basic Black). You have until 5pm on February 28th to post your link, then we'll select a winner and post their card here on March 1st. Be sure to hop over to I Dream of Stamping to find out all of the fine details of the challenge. There is a prize over there to be won! I will be adding a goodie to the prize as well!

I am Japanese. I was born and raised here in the US but I am proud to be Japanese American! The country I have chosen to support (beside U.S.A) is Japan!

It's Valentine's Day and Kevin sent me a bouquet of 18 long stem RED roses!!!

Here is my card using the Red and White from Japan's flag as my color inspiration and the gorgeous roses as my image inspiration!

Challenges:

I Dream of Stamping - Winter Olympics Inspiration Challenge
Simon Says - LOVE (the rose represents LOVE from my hubby)
Creative Belli - Ribbons

This rose is from the stamp set, A Rose is A Rose by SU. I stamped it several times on watercolor paper, spritzing the stamps as I went along. Then I cut each one apart and layered them with dimensionals. I am in LOVE with Flower Soft! Memories Live On carries them now and I have bought at least 10+ jars of this stuff in every color imaginable... will be using them to teach the next class. Anyways, I have Strawberry Flower Soft in extra fine. Isn't it beautiful?!

I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Let the games begin!

I Dream of Stamping

The Olympics kicked off last night and so did a new stamping blog called "I Dream of Stamping."  My dear stamping buddies, Jana Weaver, Michelle VanWiggeren and I, wanted to do more stamping and posting on our blogs so we decided to challenge each other to do so. From that a whole new blog was created. I Dream of Stamping is not only for us but for you as well! Bienvenue!

To kick things off, we decided to host the 2010 Winter Card Olympics!
You can read all about this fun challenge over on I Dream of Stamping.

I was a mess last night, trying to get better (physically) and ready to teach my Copics class and Cards class at Memories Live On. I had to delay posting my portion of the torch relay until today. LOL! I remember watching the torch lighting ceremony and there was the malfunction at the end...

Anyways, here's my card to kick off the Olympics:

I created the rings using my 1-3/8" circle punch and 1-3/4" circle punch. I punched these circles on Papertrey's Stampers Select White. Using Copic markers B18, Y15, 100, G14, and R46, I colored the circles with the chiseled end. I ran the Diamond Bling (Bazzill Bling) through the Big Shot with the Snowflakes (Cuttlebug) embossing folder. That's Polar White Flowersoft that is on the cupcake. I added some glitter to it before the glue dried for some extra sparkle. I didn't have any torches and saw this cupcake... it looks like a torch! If anything, it's a cupcake! You all know I love my cupcakes! lol!

Now hop over to see what Jana and Michelle have come up with for the torch relay! Then visit I Dream of Stamping for the deets.
Our first challenge will be posted tomorrow (Sunday) with a prize so be sure to come back!

Happy stamping dreams!
