Introducing "The Crop Spot" and another Monday's Fun Day!

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to BETH!

Memories Live On's (MLO) blog, "The Crop Spot" is now up and running!

Just to clarify, the store is located in Cupertino, CA. but MLO also has an online store called "Scrapbooking Supplies R Us" and it is on that site where you will find the new store blog.

Photobucket

What's super exciting is that I will be blogging for the store with two very talented ladies, Scrapperlicious (a.k.a. Irene Tan) and Holly (also a teacher at MLO).

You can check it out here: The Crop Spot

To celebrate the new blog, we are giving away $20 worth of products of YOUR CHOICE from the online store!

What do you have to do to enter?

1) Go check out the new blog and the online store

2) Come back here and post what you would get for $20 in products from Scrapbooking Supplies R US if you won the giveaway AND...

3) Let me know what you think of the new blog!

Those following my blog will already get an extra entry after posting their comment here but please know that becoming a follower is not necessary (totally appreciated nonetheless).

Help spread the word and you get another chance! Just be sure to post your link to your website / blog so that I can check it out. If you don't have one, no worries! Just email a few friends and have them mention your name when they post their comment. It works!

I work hard to keep track of all the entries and put your names into a box as your posts come in. Not to worry! The box is shaken and names are tossed well every day!! :)

A lucky winner will be drawn on July 31st at 11pm.

Aren't these little critters adorable? I colored them all with my Copics and atyou Spica pens.

Oh! We started our swim lessons today! It was supposed to start yesterday but someone got sick in the pool and they had to shut the pool down before our lessons started. I was a wreck driving over to the pool... hands shaking and my stomach twisted into a knot. BUT I got through it and Anna (my instructor) said I didn't look nervous at all! It really helped that Melanie had me going under the water on Sunday to help me get ready for the lessons (love that girl!!). Anna got me to float and kick and do some freestyle. Eeek! I'm swimming... actually learning to swim! Never in my wildest dream did I think I would be able to do this without freaking out. Well... freaking out on the inside but managed to keep it contained for the most part. Can you imagine an adult losing it in front of all those young children?

Supplies:
Paper: "Voyez en Arrière" & "Mon Ami" ~ Christine Adolph (Creative Imaginations)
Stamps: "Carpe Diem" ~ Marah Johnson (Hampton Art)
Ink: "Tuxedo Black" & "London Fog" (Memento)

Inspiration:

I'm going to go off in a tangent with this one... hope it's okay with the Twilight gang!

I love poetry... especially Robert Frost.
This one poem keeps going through my mind when I read the Twilight series.

"Carpe Diem" by Robert Frost

Age saw two quiet children
Go loving by at twilight,
He knew not whether homeward,
Or outward from the village,
Or (chimes were ringing) churchward,
He waited, (they were strangers)
Till they were out of hearing
To bid them both be happy.
"Be happy, happy, happy,
And seize the day of pleasure."
The age-long theme is Age's.
'Twas Age imposed on poems
Their gather-roses burden
To warn against the danger
That overtaken lovers
From being overflooded
With happiness should have it.
And yet not know they have it.
But bid life seize the present?
It lives less in the present
Than in the future always,
And less in both together
Than in the past. The present
Is too much for the senses,
Too crowding, too confusing-
Too present to imagine.

Thank you for visiting!
Twilight fans... give this challenge a try!

Each of the two cards have a wonderful element of surprise that are easy to replicate and so much fun to receive!

I have a third card to show how you can use a punch to create a window for an unexpected layer and use a stamp to make it pop!

Lazy Days of Summer & a Limited Copics Challenge

The lazy days of summer has caught up with me! I have spent most of them at a local pool (Rancho Rinconada) with the boys. They recently took swim lessons there and we have fallen in love with the place. They even have Kids Night Out on Friday nights for $5 per child from 6p - 9p! I get to go hang out at the mall or go over to a friend's house while the boys get to play. So the big news is that I am going to be taking swim lessons with the boys starting Monday. Nope, I don't know how to swim. Scared of the water really... well up until this week. I managed to get in all the way up to my chin so that I don't freak out (hopefully) on Monday. Wish me luck! LOL! At least the teachers are all lifeguards so if I happen to get myself into trouble, I'm sure I will be okay in the end. :)

Here are some pictures that I can share... more to come later:

Now for my "Limited Copics" Challenge over on the Crop Spot Blog...
This is a card I put together, using 5 Copic markers and the Blender.

Photobucket

How many of you have wanted to start using Copics but are a little intimidated by either the challenge of using them or the cost of the markers? How many of you have a whole bunch of markers but feel frustrated when trying to get them to coordinate together? How many have colors that you have received in a set that you don't ever use?

For more information, hop on over to:

The Crop Spot

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
