Use It Tuesday #14 - Back To School!

Hi, everyone!

It's time for another Use It Tuesday Challenge!

Just out of curiosity, who has children already back in school?
My boys do not go back until next Monday.
It feels like we are later than usual in starting up!

Well, the theme for this week's challenge is
BACK TO SCHOOL

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday, September 2nd.
No blog? No problem!
Just use keyword USE014 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation.
For more info, just hop on over to Use It Tuesday!

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

My card this week is super simple but really neat because my oldest son helped me with it! He stamped and I cut/punched the images out. He helped put the images on using pop-up dots. We had a lot of fun working on this together.

Ken picked out this oldie but goodie stamp set from Stampin' Up called "Crayon Kids." He remembered that I had used it for his thank you cards for his 5th birthday... he had helped me stamp those too! This stamp set has not seen the light of day since! He's 8 years old now. LOL!
The "Back to School" with the apple image is from Michael's. It's a dollar stamp set from Studio G. I had bought it a couple of years ago on a whim... never opened!
The hoarded item is my satin ribbon. Ken insisted it was "the perfect" ribbon for this card. I love my satin ribbons... this one is almost gone. I think it's the Bashful Blue satin ribbon from SU.
Oh! I almost forgot to mention that I had hoarded the designer paper that you see... not for the stripes but for the airplanes that are on the other side. Ken wanted to used the striped side for this card. :)

Hop on over to the Use It Tuesday Blog and see what we came up with!

I can not wait to see what you put together!

Use It Tuesday Challenge #13: Indian Summer!

Hi, everyone!

It's time for another Use It Tuesday Challenge!

What do you think of when you hear the words "Indian Summer?"
I think of unusually hot autumn days and rich fall colors, which is funny to me since the word "summer" is used.
So... your challenge is to come up with something that reminds you of an Indian summer. Need some inspiration? No worries! The Use It Tuesday Design Team and guest designers have come up with beautiful samples of  "Indian Summer". Hop on over to the Use It Tuesday Blog and see what we came up with!

Now... be sure to tell us in your post what you used and use up those hoarded items!
Here's what I came up with for this fun challenge...

The stamp set is an oldie but goodie from Stampin' Up! called "Bud Basics."
I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Summer Sun for the ink colors.
The funny thing is that I have been hoarding two of these colors since I don't have the reinkers... afraid of using the pad too often and worried that they will start to dry up. LOL! Talk about hoarding!
The designer paper is also from SU! I have been hoarding these scraps of paper because I just love this dp... I think the color is called "Close to Cocoa." Here's the best part of this card... the layout is hoarded too! Now you're probably wondering what that means. I keep notebooks of sketches of layouts that I really like. I was going through an old box of stashed SU! stuff when I found an old sketch notebook of card layouts from workshops that I was going to... roughly 6 years ago. That's a long time to hold off on using a layout that inspired me enough to put into my sketch notebook. LOL! I believe this layout was from a workshop or a card swap that was hosted by my friend, Lisa So. Isn't it cute? I think she even used the same stamp set for the card!

Okay... now it's your turn!
