Ellephantastic Challenge #4 ~ Distressing!

Hi everyone!
Today, I have a new Ellephantastic Challenge for you from fabby DT member, Vanja.
Ready to distress? Give it a try! Join in on the fun!

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Die Cut Dreams!

Susie is offering this awesome kit to one very lucky participant.
Check out what it contains!!

Susie from Die Cut Dreams is not only our sponsor this week, but our Guest Designer as well!
To check out her work and the projects by the other Elle DT members, please hop on over to the Ellephantastic Challenge Blog!

Here's a simple baby card that I made.
I used a sanding tool to distress the embossed teal Bazzill card base.
Then I used a sponge to distress the rest of the paper and cardstock with Vintage Photo (Ranger).

Ellephantastic challenges will run every Saturday.

Please link your project (not your blog) by friday 21:00pm (UK time) to the Linky HERE

PWC112 - Glitter Challenge and Prettie Blog Hop

Hey Prettie peeps!

It's Wednesday and you all know what that means...
Prettie Wednesday Challenge! Woo hoo!!

Heather (our new Prettie Mama) has a glitter challenge for us all!
It's really simple! Just put glitter on your card or your project!
I know you all have glitter stashed away somewhere.
Let's see you jazz up your projects with a little shimmer!

Here's my card.

Yes... you have seen this before. I altered it a bit with new SU ribbon and shimmer from atyou Spica.
Let me explain. I wanted to create a completely brand new card this week for this challenge but I have spent most of the last two days at the Cat Hospital. I came home from my bowling tournament up in Reno over the weekend to find my sweet fur baby, Mia, with a severe limp. Upon further investigation, I found three hard lumps on her belly... similiar to the ones that were removed a year ago. Our visit to the Cat Hospital proved to be difficult. The head doctor found a lemon sized tumor just by her stomach. Today's x-rays show that her chest is clear.  My heart aches since I know that Mia's time with us is very limited at this point. She is 15 years old. My other cat lived to be almost 20 yrs old. I don't think Mia will make it that far.

For those of you who have not "met" Mia, here's a picture I took of her yesterday.

Please keep her in your prayers. Mia will be going in for surgery on Monday.

Next stop...
Jennifer!

Hey peeps!
I have a design team call for you from Melissa at Pink Cat Studio!

I’m looking to add a few new members to my design team. If you are interested in joining my team please read below for instructions on how to apply.

As a member of the team, you will receive all of the digi stamps that I create while you are on the team and you will also receive a discount from the rubber stamp store for personal purchases.

The term will be 6 months with the possibility to renew at the end of the term.

Each Thursday I have a digital stamp new release. As a DT member you will be required to create at least one card per week in advance of the Thursday release. The card will need to be emailed to me on or before the Tuesday of each week and then promoted on your blog on the Thursday release day. On occasional Thursdays, the designs will also be offered as rubber stamps but DT members will receive all artwork in digital format, you will not receive rubber stamps in the mail.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday August 2nd at 5 pm EST and the new team members will be announced on Friday August 6th.

To apply for the DT please send me an email with the following structure. (Note: you must put “DT Call” as the subject or your application will not be considered)

Please include your full name and what country you live in.

Include your BLOG address. It is required that you have a blog as the team will use their blogs to post their cards and promote the stamps.

Include links to 2 or 3 cards or projects that you have created using digital stamps. These can link to specific posts in your blog or to an online gallery. Do not attach any cards to your application, I would only like links to your cards.

Please list the software that you use to print your digital stamps.

If you are currently a member of any other design teams, please list them.

I will not be able to respond personally to each applicant so after you email your application you will only hear from me if you are selected for the team. Those chosen for the team will be notified by email on or before Friday August 6th. If you have any questions please post them in the comments section of this blog post.

I look forward to receiving your application!

Have a great day!

Ellephantastic Challenge #3 ~ SEW Special

Hello everyone!
Welcome to another Ellephantastic Challenge!
I am your challenge hostess this week!
I hope that you can join in on the fun!
 "SEW Special"!
I noticed that my sewing machine has been quite neglected so I decided to use "sewing" as this week's challenge theme.

No sewing machine? Or perhaps you don't care to use your sewing machine on your cards? No problem! Have a go at faux sewing! Do you have any stamps or stickers of stitches? YES! They do count! You just need to include some sort of sewing / stitching on the project.

That's right!
The prize this week ~ FOUR digital images from Ellephantastic Cards & Crafts!

Introducing:
Marley and Charlie
CHEESE!

Aren't these two just the cutest?
They sure love their cheese!

Here's my sample using this week's featured Splitcoaststamper tutorial: T-Slide Card

You have until 9pm Friday, July 23rd to enter over at Ellephantastic Challenges.

I can't wait to see your SEW special projects!

PWC 110 ~ Silver and Gold!

Hey Prettie peeps!
I hope that you are all having a fabulous week!

Paper Pretties has a load of awesome new products in stock in the Paper Pretties Boutique

Heather has Basic Grey Oliver and Olivia designer paper! She's stocked up on new Petaloo "Color Me Crazy"white paper flowers! Lots of embellishments! Copic Sketch markers too!!

All stamps are still on sale too!

Paper Pretties is now under new management and ships out from here, in the U.S.
Cheaper shipping prices!  Be sure to swing by Paper Pretties and check it out!

Today, Jana Weaver is hosting the challenge. Silver and Gold!

Deeply etched rubber stamps mounted on cling foam.
On sale for $5.48!!

I started with a layer of Hanami Dream (Dove of the East) designer paper. I laid a screen print from Hambly over that. It's a really beautiful screen print that's gold with a design that looks like waves. Under the two layers are two layers of black cardstock. The first layer under the designer papers looks like silver because I painted a silver border all around the edge with my Silverfox Smooch. Sophia has chrysathemums on her kimono that I colored with my Lionet Gold Copic Marker. The rest of her kimono was painted with Frost White and Champagne Mist glimmer paint (Tsukineko). I found the ribbon at a boutique in Half Moon Bay. Isn't that brad pretty? My dear friend, Michelle, let me take one home to play with... it's from the new SU catty!

Hoping that you will join in on the fun this week!
Now it's time to hop on over to Jennifer!

She Sells Sea Shells by the Sea Shore

Hello, everyone!
Did you have a wonderful weekend?
Mine was a very long one... but it's finally over and it's a new week!

What do you have planned this summer?

Any trips to the beach?

You saw this release last week...

I love it!

I especially love Candace and the coral reef image... so much so that I had to use it again this week.
You'll see me use the other images for Thursday's Sketch Challenge. ;)

A BIG thank you to Phyllis Long (SparklePlenty1000) over on SCS.
She was kind to leave me a wonderful comment on one of my cards in my gallery and invited me to join in on the fun over at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

I found this sketch for the week and had to use it for this card!
The sea shells are so much fun!
"She sells sea shells by the sea shore"... did I get that right? :)

Here's the sketch that inspired this:

LOVE it!
