Ellephantastic Love!

Hello awesome peeps!

How was your week? Mine went fairly quickly... lots of things to do and fun times with the boys. I just wanted to take a quick moment and thank everyone who sent me birthday wishes last week and get well wishes this week. My bruises are fading and the sunburn is healing (thanks to a HUGE bottle of aloe). Don't forget the sunscreen, everyone!

Today, the Ellephantastic girls have put together a few projects using this super cute Roger with a BIG heart digi from Ellephantastic Cards & Crafts.

How cute is he?!

Helen has been working very hard in getting ready for the Ellephantastic launch.
Fabulous digis to be released JULY 3rd!

I can't wait!!

In the meantime, hop on over to the Ellephantastic Cards & Crafts to see the other projects using this image!

LLWWC43 - Embossing Challenge!

Hello everyone!
We have Maureen hosting this week's challenge and it's a fun one!
She decided to make this an Embossing Challenge!
You can do either dry or heat embossing - the choice is yours! Woo hoo!!

Since Maureen used the Beach Lala set on her card, she will be on sale for 20% OFF through next Tuesday!

I got my Cuttlebug folders out for this challenge.

Happy Maya up close!

I used three different Cuttlebug Folders for this challenge.
The yellow Bazzill cardstock was embossed with the Stampin' Up Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die.
The Stampin' Up Newsprint Designer Paper was embossed with the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Stars".
I cut out two ovals using my Nesties. They were embossed using the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Swiss Dots" and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Black Soot.
I used W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, E0000, and E00 to color in Maya.

Let's see what kind of embossing you like to do!
Hop on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog to see the DT and GDT projects for this Embossing Challenge!

Chi Chi Memories 4th of July - Up Up and AWAY!

Hi everyone!
How's the weather?
We've been SUNNY for a few days now.
Too sunny apparently.
I took the boys to the pool yesterday and I slathered sunscreen on them and on me BUT I forgot to do my back. Oh, yes... it's bad. Really bad. On the flip side, it's taken my mind off of the pain on my back and head from taking a tumble in the shower on Saturday night. I've got bruises up and down my arms, legs, and back. :(

So enough about me! Let's catch up on things over at Chi Chi Memories!

Interested in a little name game?

Take a look at my card for this week:

See that cute little bear?
He needs a name!
Personally, I like "Little" or "Little Bear" but you might have a better name for him!

Here's what Natalie has to say:

I haven't made up a name for this cute little bear, but let me tell you a little bit about this little guy. Little bear is a shy boy. He's always sitting around with his friends but never says a word or have too much of reaction of anything. Sometimes others thought he's just a doll sitting around. Although little bear doesn't show much of emotions on his face, he's always a happy boy. He loves adventures and loves his friends to bring him along when they travel.
So that's a little intro of little bear. I would love to give him a name but I'm very bad with name. So please help me out here? Suggest a name to me on the comment section HERE. I really hope he has a name. If not we'll have to just call him little bear.... which is pretty cute actually.. lol

Okie dokie!
If you have a name in mind for this little guy, hop on over to Chi Chi Memories.
Post your suggestion HERE!

Come back on Thursday for the next sketch challenge from Chi Chi Memories!

A year to remember... a new year to look forward to!

Hi everyone!

It's my birthday (Monday, June 7th) and I just wanted to make a quick post on personal updates.

First of all, I have to apologize to you all for not regularly visiting your beautiful blogs and leaving some love. Things have been a bit rough on this end the past few months. Loooooong and uninteresting story there. :) Anyways, I have been avoiding being online since that seems to eat up a lot of hours. I can't help it! There's SO much to look at in our crafty cyberspace! Making a resolution to visit those who visit me. It's a start, right?!

Second of all, I just wanted to take a moment and thank my design teams for being so patient with me. I haven't been very good about leaving comments on their blogs but they keep sending me lots of encouragement and love anyways. I am so proud to be on the teams that I am on! My resolution above applies to my uber talented DT buddies too.

I have also made a few changes to kick off the new year. I have decided to go back to school. I'm still over at De Anza Community College but I will be transferring over to West Valley eventually and then to San Jose State. My goal is to major in Psychology and Criminology. Another focus of interest is Forensics with a specialization in Biology. Well, I have two boys - my youngest is going into Kindergarten in the Fall!!! - and am a lot older than I would like to be in starting back up with college. Time restrictions will probably mean stopping with the first two majors. We shall see. :)

What about teaching preschool? I resigned from my teaching position over at the preschool. I couldn't see myself teaching and going to college full time while raising my two young boys. I will always have my Early Childhood Education degree so maybe someday I can go back to it. But for now, I will have very fond memories of my time at the MACC preschool and all of my adorable 2 and 3 year olds. I still teach piano a couple of afternoons a week and teach at the lss (Memories Live On).

Lost most of the weight that I had wanted to shed for a few years now. My new hairstyle makes me happy. I even got carmel highlights!! Wanna see? This picture of Keiji puckering up for a kiss cracks me up!

I went fishing for the very first time!
Out on the SF Bay!
I put my own bait on the hook and learned (almost) to fish.
I didn't catch anything but my friend did!
I didn't get seasick!

Well, that's all for now.

I am thinking of having a giveaway to celebrate my birthday month.
Would that be fun?
I think so.
I just need to find my camera and a few goodies. :)
