Happy Birthday to Prettie Girl WENDY!

Hi Prettie Peeps! This is my second post for the day so be sure to check out La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge by scrolling down to the next post!

Guess what?! It time to do the birthday blog hop! Well, we're combining the Pretties Wednesday Challenge with the birthday celebration for Prettie girl, WENDY!

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

The hop, as always, start with Christie. If you didn’t start off there, you might want to hop on over there now... wouldn't want you to miss out on the actual hop and all of the fabulous projects the Prettie girls have come up with!

It's Jackie's turn to host the challenge this week and she wants BUTTONS! Here's what she has to say:
Buttons! That's right, I want you to use Buttons as you main embellishment...you can use other ones, just make BUTTONs scream on your card!

Buttons, eh? You got it, Jackie!
Wendy - I used Dream Boat because I don't have the other set and had a bit of a struggle turning this into a birthday card. I hope you still like it!

Jackie... did I use enough buttons? :)
This was a FUN challenge! I collect buttons but hardly ever use them.
Now it's YOUR turn to give this challenge a try!

How to Enter: Ink up a Paper Pretties stamp (or Paper Pretties digi image) and use buttons on the card (may use other embellishments as well). Like Jackie said... make buttons SCREAM on there! LOL!

Upload the card to the Paper Pretties gallery and use keyword PWC88.

Deadline: 6pm EST on Tuesday, February 2nd.

Prize: $15.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique

Wait! There's more... a SALE! 35% off all clear stamps over at Paper Pretties! Just click HERE!

Next stop is... JENNIFER!

LLWWC23 - Easel Gift Cards Holder

Welcome to La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge! This week's challenge is brought to you by our DT member, Kim Yu. Her challenge for us this week is to come up with a gift card holder.

I have always wanted to try making an Easel Card and thought that it would be an awesome card to have pockets where you can put gift cards in. I made a pocket behind Birthday Lala and another pocket on the bottom panel, behind the scalloped edge. Take a look!

For those of you who take classes with me at Memories Live On, this will be one of the cards that we will make on February 13th, using an acrylic birthday stamp set from Hero Arts.

Now it's YOUR turn to come up with a gift card holder. Be sure to hop over to La-La Land Crafts and check out the details for this challenge. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Flutter Butter Butterfly

On January 9th, Melissa introduced her new Paper Piecing Projects and a butterfly paper piecing contest. That post (click HERE) includes tons of gorgeous samples. You get to download a free butterfly (or purchase one) and have a chance to win $50 to spend at Pink Cat Studios! Click HERE to get more info. Be sure to go there today because the contest ends on Wednesday, Jan. 28th!

I had the chance to create this card for Melissa when she was looking for crafters to make samples for her.

I decided to get in on the Butterfly Paper Piecing Contest. I used Flutter Butter Breeze (Bo-Bunny) designer paper and Alora rub-ons (Bo-Bunny) to make the card below. The butterfly was paper pieced after I covered the wings and sections with the rub-on. The body and antennae are covered with glitter.

If you haven't tried the PCS Paper Piecing Projects, you have to give them a try! I know that I love to cut by hand and it's not for everyone... but you can use these with your electronic cutter! If you don't have an electronic cutter, you can very easily cut these by hand.

I am getting ready now for a bowling tournament in Las Vegas and need to get offline to pack. :) Did you see that Kelly Kulick made bowling history by becoming the first female bowler to win a PBA Title? How awesome is that?!

Have a wonderful week and be sure to come back here tomorrow for La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge and a new Pretties Wednesday Challenge!

LLWWC22 - Never Ending Friendship

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have two awesome challenges for you today! For the Pretties Wednesday Challenge, please click HERE!

Welcome to another La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge! It's Elena's turn to be your hostess for this week's challenge! She is one of our newest DT member and we are very happy to have her join our team!

Before I get to the challenge, I'd like to thank everyone who played with us last week challenge Shaped Cards! We really enjoyed visiting your blogs and look at your wonderful cards! Be sure to check if you are a winner of the last week’s challenge!

Elena wanted us to create a “Fancy Fold” card for this challenge. Anything that deviates from the normal "one-fold" card will qualify. Our DT came up with some fabulous cards!! You can check them out HERE.

I knew I wanted to do the "Never Ending" card. It's one that I have taught at Memories Live On and the students LOVE making these cards.

Don't forget about La-La Land Crafts special offer - Buy three, get one FREE!
Between now and January 30th, when you purchase three stamps from our online store, you will receive a FREE stamp of your choice!!
Just let us know your choice in the Notes section upon check out!!

Simply Special Birthday Wishes

Hello Prettie peeps! It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop! If you hopped over from KRISTY's blog, then you are on the right track! If not, hop back to the very beginning to CHRISTIE's blog. Then make your way back over here! I don't want you  to miss a thing! :)

This week the challenge is hosted by Kristy Ketterlin. Kristy’s favorite color is pink... anything and everything pink! So Kristy has a color challenge for us, to create a card using the colors pink, white and one of your favorite colors. Wait... there's another part to the challenge! You have to add ribbon and use a technique you have not tried before!

I used the stamp SIMPLY SPECIAL. I needed to make a birthday card for a fellow preschool teacher and thought she would really like this image. I used white, pink, and teal as my colors. Teal?! No... it's not my favorite color. However, the SCS Clean and Simple Cards challenge - CAS50 is to use teal, white, and one other color. The new thing that I wanted to try out was using only white cardstock... no designer paper. I don't know if it's a "technique" but I thought it would be neat to try. I used a sponge to add the pink everywhere.

I also decided to join in on Mojo Monday's Sketch Blog challenge.

Here's my card: Simply Special Birthday Wish

How to Enter: Create a card using the challenge above and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s) you have. Upload your project to the Paper Pretties gallery. Please include it in the Weekly Challenges category and use keyword PWC87.

Deadline: 6pm EST Tuesday, January 26th.

Prize: $15.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.

This week’s special: 20% off – Simply Special & Unknown Blessings

Now it's time for you to hop along over to see what Jennifer has whipped up for this fun challenge!

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

A La-La Land Birthday Hop for KATHY!

Now, before I get into the birthday celebration, I just wanted to mention that La-La Land Crafts is having a special! The stamps from the new release are already in! Here is the link. But wait... there's more! Buy three, get one FREE! Between now and January 30th, when you purchase three stamps from our online store, you will receive a FREE stamp of your choice!! Just let us know your choice in the Notes section upon check out!! Thank you!

Hi! Today is a very exciting day at La-La Land Crafts! Today is Kathy’s Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Kathy!

I hope that it is a FABULOUS birthday!

In order to make this day extra special for Kathy, we decided throw a special birthday blog hop! Well, Elena, our birthday coordinator, came up with this awesome idea of doing a "Walk of Fame" birthday celebration... thank you, Elena! I think it's a fabulous way to honor our fellow DT member!

We each took a card from Kathy's own collection and CASE'd it. I have to tell you that selecting just one to work with was really difficult. This girl is SO talented! Her coloring skills are fantastic and her layers are gorgeous... not to mention her cute embellishments that are always just the perfect touch. You  have seen those buttons with the twine in the center tied into a bow with the ends swirling one way and another? Well, that's Kathy! I finally decided to work with this card that she had made for La-La Land Crafts back in November called "Thankful For You".

Here is my attempt at CASE'ing Kathy's beautiful card, using LOTUS.

Here are the links to all who joined in this birthday hop:

Don't forget to hop over to Kathy’s blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Thank you for stopping by!

Eggstra Special Cooper

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!
Many of you might have today off, including the children. My boys and I are planning on having a "PJ Day" where we stay in our pajamas all day long and play lots of games together. What are you up to today?

Before I get to my "eggstra" special Cooper card, I just wanted to mention a SALE that I think you might be interested in checking out over at Paper Pretties. This week, ALL of the clear stamps in our boutique are on sale for 35% off! That's right! 35% off! For just one week! You can click HERE to see all of the stamps that are on sale! Most of my favorites stamps are there! Go check it out!

For my Eggstra Special Easter Cooper card, I got my air compressor and Copics out and I made my own eggs. I had so much fun airbrushing that I didn't realize I was airbrushing over my fingernails! They are now stained a pretty orange and blue. It was a blast trying something new!

Ready for another Prettie Peek? Wendy has Sophia taking a bubble bath so be sure to hop over to her awesome blog, Bond Girl Bliss, and see what she has come up with for "Bubble Time" Sophia!

Thank you very much for stopping by... enjoy the rest of your day!

Time for a Prettie Anniversary BLOG HOP & Prettie Wednesday Challenge!

It's Wednesday and that means I have TWO blog posts. Please click HERE to see La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge #21!

Hello Prettie Peeps! Welcome to Paper Pretties 3nd Anniversary Blog Hop!

We are celebrating in true Prettie style and you won't want to miss out!
For this release, we will be having a week long Blog Hop - starting today!

Remember that on the 15th at 8 pm EST we will all meet in Forum at Paper Pretties to celebrate and find out who the grand prize winner of our Blog Hop contest is!

This hop is not like our typical release hops. Instead, the Design Team will not only be showing you previews of all the wonderful stamps that we will be releasing this month, but we will also be show casing one super cute stamp that you get to try and guess what our adorable Cooper is doing! In order to win our super cute Cooper from this hop, you'll need to collect all of the clues from the blog hop - 10 in all and submit your answer to Jackie. Answers must be in by 8am on the 15th (Friday) to qualify.

You should be coming here from KRISTY.
If not, be sure to start with CHRISTIE so that you don't miss a thing!

My clue is:  SNOW DRIFT

Here is a sneak peek of my card:

Do you see stitching? I know... I rarely have any stitching on my cards. That's because I really don't know how to properly use my sewing machine. I think I am getting better at it. That's a good thing because our challenge for you this week is STITCHING. I suppose I could have done some faux stitching but I really wanted to try something relatively new and get some practice in with the sewing machine.

You will be able to see the whole card when you visit Paper Pretties on the 15th for our New Release Party.

If you'd like to play along with us you can upload your card to the Pretties' weekly challenge gallery for your chance to win a $15.00 gift certificate to our store!

Your next stop is JENNIFER.

Good luck with the clues!!

LLWWC21 - Shaped Up!

Hello everybody! It's time for another La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!
We have our talented Maureen hosting this week's challenge!

Before I get to this week's challenge, I just wanted to thank everyone who joined in on our new release blog hop last week. It was a terrific turnout and we appreciate everyone's comments! Be sure to go back to the blogs to see if you have won a new release stamp! I have a list of all the blogs posted HERE. Congratulations again to CANDACE who won LOTUS on my blog.

LLWWC#21 - SHAPED CARDS

Here's what Maureen has to say about her challenge:
For my challenge, I would like to see shaped cards - any shape other than a rectangle or square.

Okay! Shaped cards it is!
You can see all of the FABULOUS projects that the DT and GDT have created for this challenge at La-La Land Crafts blog!

I had a blast making this one. It turned out better than I thought it would. I created a template of a fan blade on the thick PTI Stamper's Select cardstock. Then I traced 5 of them on this gorgeous designer paper by Creative Imaginations (Christine Adolph). I put them together and punched a hole at the bottom of the fan blades with my Crop-A-Dile. Then I decorated it with some Japanese stamps by Kodomo Inc. and the Garden Trellis punch by Martha Stewart. The ribbon is from PTI... isn't it pretty? It feels so good to play with that ribbon!

What do you think?

Okay, peeps! Now it's YOUR turn! Gotta love getting "shaped up!" :)
Check out the deets on this challenge HERE. You will find Mr. Linky there too.

Here's are the links to the DT and GDT blogs... enjoy!

Pink Cat Studio Paper Piecing Projects and a Contest!

I am so excited to announce that Pink Cat Studio is expanding into Paper Piecing Projects! Most of you already know just how much I LOVE to cut by hand. These Paper Piecing Projects are SO much fun to cut. But wait!! If you don't love to cut by hand as much as I do, how about trying these out on your favorite electronic cutter?

Here's a link to the webpage that displays all of the newest Paper Piecing Projects to choose from. There is also a contest on the Pink Cat Studio blog. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to spend in the Pink Cat Studio rubber or digi store! To enter, you will get to download a FREE Paper Piecing Project so not only will you get to play along with me, but you have a chance to win some Pink Cat Studio goodies!

Also on the blog are lots of projects made by those who received the opportunity to try these Paper Piecing Projects a few days ago. I happened to stop by the Pink Cat Studio blog and saw that Melissa had posted a call for help in trying out her new Paper Piecing Projects. I was very lucky to get this chance to play along with several fabulous and very crafty gals. Thank you, Melissa!

I downloaded the butterfly and printed the parts on Stamper's Select White from PaperTrey Ink. The cardstock is so wonderfully thick that it makes for terrific templates. I cut out the butterfly and its various "parts" and used them to trace onto the designer paper with my Copic Multiliner. What do you think?

So now I am working on two more cards using the butterfly. Come join in on the fun!
I would LOVE to see what you come up with! Link here if you get in on the challenge!

Come back later tonight and I will have another project using the butterflies! I can't stop cutting! LOL!
