A Prettie Peek at Lamb Toy (Fluffy Lambykins)

I'm so excited that it's time for another round of Prettie Peeks! This one is for the Paper Pretties April Release! All of the new stamp sets and digital stamps will be available to purchase on Monday, April 1st!

We kicked it off yesterday with Prettie peeks from Heather and Jennifer. They have a couple of awesome projects using Julie's latest scripture. It's so elegant! Be sure to go take a look!

Also, if you didn't know already, Prettie girl Heather is hosting her 3rd annual Blog Candy for a Great Cause giveaway. This year, Heather is trying to help raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. Her friend Chava is going to be participating in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides walk and Heather is helping her try to reach her fundraising goal. I know that together, we can make this happen!

My Prettie peek for today is using one of the four new Prettie digi stamps being released on April 1st. This Lamb Toy image is absolutely precious! My boys called my lamb "Fluffy Lambykins" when they saw it on my craft table.

I added flowersoft to the lamby and buttons to the wheels.
Isn't that little lamb just the sweetest?!

Now hop on over and visit with Frances and Julie to see what wonderful projects they have been putting together for the Paper Pretties' April Release!

LLWWC31 - Make Your Own Flowers

It's Wednesday and you know what this means! I have TWO challenges for you today! Please click HERE to see the Paper Pretties Challenge / Birthday hop.

Welcome to another La La Weekly Wednesday Challenge!

Our hostess this week is Kim!
This week's challenge is MAKE YOUR OWN FLOWERS

Before I get to my card, I just wanted to thank all those who participated in our challenge last week AND used a La-La Land Crafts stamp. Please remember that in order to qualify for TOP 3, you need to use a La-La Land Crafts image. If you do not have any of our stamps yet, you can start your collection by purchasing one or more of our new digi stamps! Digi stamps are now available in our online store. Awesome news for anyone who prefer rubber... these digis are now in RUBBER!! You can find them HERE.

Here is LOTUS sitting pretty for The Pink Elephant Challenge 59 and Creative Card Crew Challenge 46 (Going Dotty).

Here's the sketch from The Pink Elephant:

I've made these flowers in the past (2007) using the Three For You punch (SU). I use my fingernail to rough up the edges and as the petals soften, it begins to separate. I push the top layer up and push both layers in the middle to crease it a bit. Very easy to do once you get the hang of it. I  used the larger hole punch on my Crop-A-Dile to create the centers for each flower. Then I added a drop of glue to each center and added micro beads.

You can see my original flowers HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

Here's a closeup of the flowers that I made today:

Here's a closeup of Lotus:

Thank you for stopping by!
Be sure to go visit La-La Land Crafts and join in on the fun!
I can't wait to see your handmade flowers!

Whoo's Prettie Birthday Is It?

Whoo's birthday are we celebrating today? Whoo whoo?! Why... it's our very own StampOwl, Frances's Birthday! In addition to our Wednesday challenge, we're hopping for her birthday! Now, if you didn't get here from Wendy's blog, be sure to hop back over to Prettie Mama Christie's blog so you don't miss out on having a hoot of a good time today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRANCES!!!

This week the challenge is hosted by Jana Weaver.

Jana’s challenge, in honor of Frances' birthday, is to find inspiration for your card from some type of owl (real or fictional) and include a picture of your inspiration with your post.

Now most of you know that I have been collecting all things owls since I was a little girl. I LOVE owls! Surprisingly, this challenge really got me thinking hard and I couldn't decide what to do! Instead of looking at my collection for inspiration, I decided to just pick one of three favorite owls in real life. I love the Snowy Owls and Sooty Owls... but the one I chose today for my inspiration is the Spotted Owl.

I used the sketch from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch 61 for the layout and included this card in the Cupcake Craft Challenge 83 (food & drink):

I used Make A Wish for this week's card...
I tried to capture the brown and white of the owl.

This week the Design Team are using “Lady Sophia” and “Make A Wish”. Both sets are on special in the Pretties Boutique for one week only. 20% off!!

Come play along with us! Create a card/project using the challenge above and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s) you have. Upload your project to the Paper Pretties Gallery. Be sure to add it to the Weekly Challenges category and use keyword PWC96.

Hop on over to see what kind of owl inspiration and fabulous project Jennifer has put together for today's challenge!

Don't forget to stop by with Frances and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Pink Cat Studio - NEW Easter Digi Stamps!

Melissa has 10 new Easter themed digi stamps to share with you!

Six of them are brand new and 4 of them are converted rubber stamps. I was so excited when Melissa asked if I would be interested in making a sample for her new release. Of course I said "YES!!" I am so pleased to be able to participate along with guest designers Laura Pryor, Lysa Rohrer, Lauretta See, Crystal Irwin and the incredibly talented PCS Design Team.
Thank you, Melissa!

To view ALL of the awesome projects for the new release, please hop over to Pink Cat Studio.

Here are several projects that I came up with for the new release.  Enjoy!

Hopping Bunnies! Can you hear 'em? Wooooo hooooooo!

Yes... I cut the three bunnies apart and put them in separate windows.
But I kept them together for the next card.

This card uses the sketch for Mojo Monday 130.

Here's Easter Lily! Isn't she just adorable?!
I gave her fuzzy bunny ears, flower with glassy glaze, and a popped up basket.

Easter Bunny with Balloons is one of my faves!
I found a really cute bunny and carrots notepad with a magnetic strip on the back in the dollar bin at Target. I used it to create this altered notepad.

Flowersoft for da bunny and pink fluff for his ears.
The basket was cut out and popped up with dimensionals.
The balloons have glassy glaze on them.
All of the images have been colored with Copics.

Thank you for looking!
Don't forget to hop on over to Pink Cat Studio!
You are gonna love seeing what everyone has come up with!

Have a marvelous Monday!!

Scallop Envelope Box Tutorial

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!
The leprechauns were very busy in our home in the wee hours of the mornin'.
I stayed up until 4am so they must have come out sometime between then and 6am when the boys got up.
The family room is trashed!! LOL! Green glitter everywhere!

I have some AWESOME news to share!!

My Scallop Envelope Box Tutorial is now up over at Splitcoaststampers!!!

When Beate emailed me a few months ago, I thought I had done something seriously wrong and I was in trouble. I wonder if she gets that a lot. Anyways, I have been holding on to this since the end of last year and could hardly wait for today to finally arrive!

I have both step-by-step pictures as well as my very first video tutorial!

Please take a look and let me know what you think! If you have any questions, please leave them here or there, under comments.

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!

Soft and Sweet Easter Cooper Basket

Hey Prettie Peeps! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
It's time for a new Pretties Challenge (PWC95)! You are gonna like this one!

Before we get to my project, I just wanted to check in with you and see if you made it here from Wendy's awesome blog. If not, hop on over to Christie's and start from there. I don't want you to miss a thing! :)

Here's my project using the colors as my inspiration!
This is the Scallop Envelope Box.
My tutorial for it is now up over at Splitcoaststampers!
You can see the step-by-step over HERE.

This is what it looked like before I put some Aquamist cardstock on the flaps

Here's the after:

I added a handle by placing the ends underneath the Aquamist cardstock

Here's a closeup of Eggstra Special Easter Cooper

Recycle it!

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!

It's Elena's turn to be our hostess this week!
Since March 17th is St.Patrick's Day, Elena decided to GO GREEN.
It's time for a RECYLE IT Challenge!
 Let's save the world!

Here are some ideas from Elena:
- use a cereal box as a chipboard to create your own embellishment
- use a lace or ribbon or buttons from the old clothes
- old newspaper or book page to make a paper flower
- instead of designer paper, try wrapping paper or wall paper
- use a bubble wrapping paper as a "stamp" to create your own background paper
- create a 3-D project by using an acetate package
- use raffia
- use old / inexpensive jewelry as a charm

The deets on the challenge has changed so please be sure to visit La-La Land Crafts for the new info!

Almost everything on (not inside) the Scallop Envelope Box is recycled!
My tutorial for this box is now up over at Splitcoaststampers!
You can see the step-by-step HERE.
Be sure to let me know what you think!

The box:

I recycled the cardboard that comes with SU Designer Series Paper

You can find my tutorial on SCS!

The flowers are made from a Target ad!

Curl the ends of the petals with the side of your scissors. Be gentle... newsprint tears easily!

Recycled cardboard from the end of a ribbon bobbin.
I punched it to a smaller circle with a 1" punch.

I used a distressing tool and roughed up the edges.

I poked two holes in the set of flowers and the ribbon bobbin cardboard.

I ran twine through the holes and tied a bow to hold everything together.

The box holds Prima flowers.
It's for a friend who LOVES cows and flowers...
and her favorite color is WHITE!

Doesn't Maya look so happy?!
I just love Happy Maya!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
