La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge #5 - Embellish It!

What a month! My oldest had a fever of 103.8 the other day and now has a bad cough that is keeping him up. Last week was a stomach virus. The week before that was another stomach thing. Let's hope this is it! I have a couple of packages that are waiting to go and they will be heading out Thursday morning, come rain or shine!

Well, it's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun round of La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge. This week's challenge is to "Embellish It!".It is hosted by our talented Maureen. She has this to say: "I love to embellish my creations so I want to see how you all embellish yours! Please use at least 3 different types of embellishments on your projects this week. They can be anything - buttons, ribbon, charms, brads, flowers, glitter, etc., as long as you've got 3 different types! I hope you have fun with this challenge!"

I know many of you love to embellish. How many of you have tons of fabulous embellishments just waiting to be used? I love to collect embellishments (amongst other crafty things) and never really use them. I decided to use the three things I really love to hoard... ribbon, buttons, and bling. Hope you like what I came up with!

LLWWC4 - Distressing!

Hi everyone! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!

This week's challenge is Distressing!
Our host this week is Kathy.
She says "Distressing can be done in a number of ways ~ tearing, sanding, inking or with a distress tool!!"

I decided to get my Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads out and make my own background.

No more "Teacher Mommy"!!

La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge "Bling, Bling!"

Welcome to a new La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!
This week, DT member, Kim Yu, will be hosting LLWWC3 -"Bling! Bling!"

This week's challenge is BLING, BLING! I would like everyone to add some blings, sparkles, glitter, anything that blings! There are so many blings out there these days so the possibilities are endless! So take all those BLINGS out and pplay along!

The large gems are actually SU clear rhinestone brads. I used a pair of Craft scissors to trim off the prongs. Glue dots hold them down on the cardstock. Copic glitter pens were used to highlight the candle, trim of La-La's dress, lips, hair clips, and shoes.

All Boxed Up!

“All Boxed Up” – A Penny Black Halloween!

LLWWC2 - Stitching

In the post below this one, I posted the details for the challenge and all of the cards that were sent in by the Design Team and the Guest Designers.

I forgot to give the deets on my own card! lol!

This is Pepper with Cake. I adore this stamp!

Aside from La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge to incorporate stitching onto the card, I joined in on the fun on a couple of the challenges from SplitCoastStampers. The next challenge on my list was "Try a New Technique" TLC235 "Painted Grid". The other challenge was "Limited Supplies" LSC234 "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man".

The first challenge (Painted Grid) asked for a brayer and mesh. I couldn't, for the life of me, find my mesh so I cut up a piece from the liner that protects the shelving in my cabinets. What can I say? LOL! Anyways, I wrapped it around the brayer and stuck it down with some double stick tape. I trimmed of the extra edge so that it lay flat on the brayer. I inked it up with Whisper White and rolled it over the Chocolate Chip cardstock. When I rolled it out, I realized that the "grid" on the liner was slightly raised on the front and the other part of the "criss cross" wasn't able to touch the paper. SO... I turned the cardstock once, counter clockwise, inked up the brayer, and completed the "hatching" so that it actually looked like a grid. So there you have it.

Can you guess what the second challenge on SCS was about?

That's right... masculine card! The "Limited Supplies" part of the challenge said "No flowers, no ribbon, no bling." The "no ribbon" part of the challenge said that fibers, twine, linen thread, etc. were okay. I assumed that sewing on the card would then be okay. So, what do you think? Masculine enough?
