Doesn't Every Girl Like To Feel Prettie!

To see La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge, please scroll down to the next post or click HERE.

Before I get started, I just wanted to wish my beautiful little boy a very HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY! It is so hard to believe that he will be starting Kindergarten in the fall! He loves cars and here he is standing next to a NASCAR racing car that is on display at the M&M store in Las Vegas:

Okay, Prettie Peeps! It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge and Blog Hop! You probably came here from Kristy Ketterlin's blog. If not, then you might want to hop back over to the start of the blog hop, at Christie Ortman's blog, so that you don't miss a thing!

This week's challenge is hosted by Jennifer Greco. Jennifer’s challenge is “Something for your Valentine”. It can be a card, a gift, a treat... whatever it is you are giving to your Valentine as long as it is stamped!

We are using Flirty Fortunes or Sassy Circles and Sassy Shoes, which are all on sale for 20% off this week! I would have made a Valentine for Kevin but I didn't have Flirty Fortunes to stamp with. I opted instead to make a girlie pink card for one of my friends that I will give as a Valentine / Birthday card. I will put a Westfield Mall gift card inside so that she can buy something special for herself. She LOVES shoes and polka dots... I think she will like this card. :)

Paper: Mimosa "Pink Lady" (SEI), Stamper's Select White (Papertrey), Bazzil Bling
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Ribbon: Berry Sorbet (Papertrey)
Nestabilities: Scalloped Heart
Embossing folder: Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug)
Copics: 0, E30, R20, R30

Now you get to hop over to visit with the host of this challenge, Jennifer Greco!

I would love to see what you come up with!
Play along with us and be sure to upload your Prettie project into our weekly challenge gallery!

Wishing you all a very happy Valentine's day and Chinese New Year!

xoxo

LLWWC25 - No Designer Paper!

Welcome to La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge! Lisa is our host this week and she has a fun challenge for us all... no designer paper! Here's what she has to say:

"I challenge you to make a card without using any designer/decorative paper (including any you stamp on your own). Yep, that's right... only cardstock! But you can dry emboss the cardstock layers and use whatever embellishments you want. It's sort of the old-fashioned way of card-making!"

One lucky participant will win wonderful this stamp, Sitting Lala:

This challenge was really fun to do!
I started by dry embossing white cardstock with "Elegant Bouquet" textured impressions embossing folder (SU). Using Classic Oval Large and Classic Scalloped Oval Large nesties, I created a frame for sweet Rosie to stand in. I matched the dry embossing on the white oval. The ribbon is green because of Rosie's eyes and I also wanted it to look like the ends of the ribbon were leaves for the felt flower. It looked a little bare so I added some flower buttons (SU).

Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Nestabilites: Classic Oval Large, Classic Scalloped Oval Large
Ribbon: Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink)
Buttons: Latte (SU)
Flower: Sweet Pea Stitched Felt (SU)
Copics: E0000, E00, E01, E09, E19, E74, R46, R81, R85, BG93

Please visit La-La Land Crafts for more information on this challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team and Guest Designers have come up with!

LLWWC24 - ♥ HEARTS ♥

Happy Wednesday! I have two challenges for you today! Looking for the Pretties Wednesday Challenge? Scroll down or click HERE!

This is my first time ever hosting a challenge here in LaLa Land, but I think it will be fun and easy for everyone! Since Valentine's Day is so close, I thought it would be fun to USE HEARTS!
(ie. make a heart-shaped card; use hearts in your DP; ribbon with hearts on it; heart punches or Nesties; Doilies in the shape of hearts; heart images; doodle hearts around your image/card... You get the picture!! *Ü*)

Hearts? I ♥ hearts! Finally... a good excuse to use my new Maya Road Trinket Heart pins! :)

I couldn't help myself! Kristine asked for hearts and I was determined to give her lots of hearts!
Heart bling, heart pins, heart nesties...   HEARTS!

So check out the deets on this challenge HERE at La-La Land Crafts blog and come show us some love! Join in on the fun!

Prettie Crushed Gray Burgundy Birthday

Hey Prettie Peeps! Happy Wednesday!
Welcome to Pretties Wednesday Challenge #89!

If you made it over here from Kristy Ketterlin's blog, then you are on the right track! If not, then you will want to start at the very beginning of this blog hop Christie Ortman's blog so that you don't miss a thing!

It's the first Wednesday of the month and this means it's time for a Sketch Challenge!
Take a look at the sketch that Frances has come up with this challenge...

Wondering why I have "Crushed Gray Burgundy Birthday" as the title for today's post?
I decided to join in on a Splitcoaststampers Color Combinations Challenge #256.
The colors are: Crushed Curry, Basic Gray, and Bravo Burgundy.
Did you know there's an online Stampin' Up Color Chart that you can refer to?
Click HERE if you want to see the actual colors!

I know! It's not what I had in mind. I really had to work outside of my comfort zone on this one. Strangely, I had a good time making this card. I'm having a hard time with it though... it just looks so different from what I had in my head! I might have to try this sketch challenge again and work without these colors. LOL! I think I was going for a more masculine looking card but it changed before I finished working on it. Ever have that happen to you?

Anyways, come join in on the fun! It's a neat sketch!

Create a card using the challenge above and any Paper Pretties stamp(s) that you have. Upload your project to the Paper Pretties gallery. Be sure to add your card to the "Weekly Challenges" category and use keyword PWC89.

This week’s special: 20% off – Time For Cake & Sealed with a Kiss. As an added special, and since Christie used the dp on her card for this challenge, all of the Cosmo Cricket dp is on sale for 45% off as well!

Time to head over to see what Jennifer has come up with for this challenge!

Happy Birthday to Prettie Girl WENDY!

Hi Prettie Peeps! This is my second post for the day so be sure to check out La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge by scrolling down to the next post!

Guess what?! It time to do the birthday blog hop! Well, we're combining the Pretties Wednesday Challenge with the birthday celebration for Prettie girl, WENDY!

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

The hop, as always, start with Christie. If you didn’t start off there, you might want to hop on over there now... wouldn't want you to miss out on the actual hop and all of the fabulous projects the Prettie girls have come up with!

It's Jackie's turn to host the challenge this week and she wants BUTTONS! Here's what she has to say:
Buttons! That's right, I want you to use Buttons as you main embellishment...you can use other ones, just make BUTTONs scream on your card!

Buttons, eh? You got it, Jackie!
Wendy - I used Dream Boat because I don't have the other set and had a bit of a struggle turning this into a birthday card. I hope you still like it!

Jackie... did I use enough buttons? :)
This was a FUN challenge! I collect buttons but hardly ever use them.
Now it's YOUR turn to give this challenge a try!

How to Enter: Ink up a Paper Pretties stamp (or Paper Pretties digi image) and use buttons on the card (may use other embellishments as well). Like Jackie said... make buttons SCREAM on there! LOL!

Upload the card to the Paper Pretties gallery and use keyword PWC88.

Deadline: 6pm EST on Tuesday, February 2nd.

Prize: $15.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique

Wait! There's more... a SALE! 35% off all clear stamps over at Paper Pretties! Just click HERE!

Next stop is... JENNIFER!

LLWWC23 - Easel Gift Cards Holder

Welcome to La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge! This week's challenge is brought to you by our DT member, Kim Yu. Her challenge for us this week is to come up with a gift card holder.

I have always wanted to try making an Easel Card and thought that it would be an awesome card to have pockets where you can put gift cards in. I made a pocket behind Birthday Lala and another pocket on the bottom panel, behind the scalloped edge. Take a look!

For those of you who take classes with me at Memories Live On, this will be one of the cards that we will make on February 13th, using an acrylic birthday stamp set from Hero Arts.

Now it's YOUR turn to come up with a gift card holder. Be sure to hop over to La-La Land Crafts and check out the details for this challenge. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Flutter Butter Butterfly

On January 9th, Melissa introduced her new Paper Piecing Projects and a butterfly paper piecing contest. That post (click HERE) includes tons of gorgeous samples. You get to download a free butterfly (or purchase one) and have a chance to win $50 to spend at Pink Cat Studios! Click HERE to get more info. Be sure to go there today because the contest ends on Wednesday, Jan. 28th!

I had the chance to create this card for Melissa when she was looking for crafters to make samples for her.

I decided to get in on the Butterfly Paper Piecing Contest. I used Flutter Butter Breeze (Bo-Bunny) designer paper and Alora rub-ons (Bo-Bunny) to make the card below. The butterfly was paper pieced after I covered the wings and sections with the rub-on. The body and antennae are covered with glitter.

If you haven't tried the PCS Paper Piecing Projects, you have to give them a try! I know that I love to cut by hand and it's not for everyone... but you can use these with your electronic cutter! If you don't have an electronic cutter, you can very easily cut these by hand.

I am getting ready now for a bowling tournament in Las Vegas and need to get offline to pack. :) Did you see that Kelly Kulick made bowling history by becoming the first female bowler to win a PBA Title? How awesome is that?!

Have a wonderful week and be sure to come back here tomorrow for La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge and a new Pretties Wednesday Challenge!

I knew I wanted to do the "Never Ending" card. It's one that I have taught at Memories Live On and the students LOVE making these cards.

Simply Special Birthday Wishes

Hello Prettie peeps! It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop! If you hopped over from KRISTY's blog, then you are on the right track! If not, hop back to the very beginning to CHRISTIE's blog. Then make your way back over here! I don't want you  to miss a thing! :)

This week the challenge is hosted by Kristy Ketterlin. Kristy’s favorite color is pink... anything and everything pink! So Kristy has a color challenge for us, to create a card using the colors pink, white and one of your favorite colors. Wait... there's another part to the challenge! You have to add ribbon and use a technique you have not tried before!

I used the stamp SIMPLY SPECIAL. I needed to make a birthday card for a fellow preschool teacher and thought she would really like this image. I used white, pink, and teal as my colors. Teal?! No... it's not my favorite color. However, the SCS Clean and Simple Cards challenge - CAS50 is to use teal, white, and one other color. The new thing that I wanted to try out was using only white cardstock... no designer paper. I don't know if it's a "technique" but I thought it would be neat to try. I used a sponge to add the pink everywhere.

I also decided to join in on Mojo Monday's Sketch Blog challenge.

Here's my card: Simply Special Birthday Wish

How to Enter: Create a card using the challenge above and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s) you have. Upload your project to the Paper Pretties gallery. Please include it in the Weekly Challenges category and use keyword PWC87.

Deadline: 6pm EST Tuesday, January 26th.

Prize: $15.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.

This week’s special: 20% off – Simply Special & Unknown Blessings

Now it's time for you to hop along over to see what Jennifer has whipped up for this fun challenge!

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
