LLWWC11 - Pink! A chance to win a stamp!

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another fun challenge at La-La Land Crafts! The theme for La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge (LLWWC) #11 is PINK!

Here's what our hostess for the week, KIM, has to say about her challenge:

Now, for this week...pink is one of my favorite colors. So, for this week's challenge, I would love to see some PINK. Your project does not have to be all pink. As long as it mostly pink, that's fine.

My card this week also meets two other challenges over at SCS:

Sketch Challenge (SC253)

Try a New Technique (TLC245) Double Embossing or Blank Embossing
This is an awesome technique! Nilda Rockenbach has a video on how to do this technique. Patty Bennett has a step by step tutorial on her blog as well. I used a cereal box for my templates (following Nilda's tutorial) and it worked just fine.

Christmas Rosie with Bird (I didn't include the bird this time)

Stamp:

Stamp: Christmas Rosie with Bird
Paper: Pretty in Pink (SU), Rose Red (SU), Audrey Flourish (Glitz)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Pretty in Pink (SU)
Copics: E00, E17, RV32, RV34, R0000, B14
Accessories: Snowflakes (Cuttlebug), With Love (Cuttlebug), horizontal slot punch, pink ribbon, pop up dots

This week, we have another adorable stamp for one lucky winner! The design team will select their top 3 favorites entries. The one with the most votes gets this stamp!

PLUS, the Top Three will get to proudly display this adorable button on their blog!

So, hop on over to La-La Land Crafts for more information and to see all of the pretty in pink inspirations that our design team & new guest designers have created for you!

A Treat Holder recycling baby food jars

My boys are now 4 and 6... hardly young enough for me to validate holding onto all those empty baby food jars that I have been collecting over the years. Well, the Paper Pretties challenge (PWC74) this week, hosted by Frances, is to make something for a Halloween Treat. I just happened to have one of the jars in my hand, ready to toss, when I thought it would be cute to fill these jars with Brachs' Mellowcreme Pumpkins.

Then I found some coffee filters that I thought I could use to cover the lid of the jars. I'm sure this has been done before. The coffee filters are too large for the baby food jars so I trimmed about an inch off all around. I took the acrylic stamp set of three pumpkins from Clear Stamps, cut one off, and stamped it all around the edge in Tangelo (Memento)and Bamboo Leaves (Memento).

The coffee filters are a bright white so I sponged on some Shabby Shutters and Dried Marigold (Tim Holtz Distress Inks) to add some background color.

I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the lip of the jar and added the sentiment with a piece of linen thread. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped Cooper twice. I colored Cooper with Copics and then cut him out carefully. The trick-or-treat bag is layered twice to add some dimension.

Stamp: Pick of the Patch (Paper Pretties), Series 34 (Clear Stamps)
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Tangelo, and Bamboo Leaves (Memento); Shabby Shutters and Dried Marigold (TH Distress Inks)
Copics: 0, E00, E01, E33, E37, YR04, G24
Accessories: sponge(SU), linen thread(SU), ribbon, dimensionals(SU)

There you have it! A treat holder recycling baby food jars!

Now for some fabulous treat holder ideas, start with Christie's blog, Little Pink Flowers, and blog hop to visit all the Prettie Girls! Really awesome and spooktacular creations you don't want to miss!
