I'm sorry I don't have anything new from my craft table to share.
I made a few cards using my new Hero Arts stamp sets, but need my camera to charge first before I can take any pics. Thanks to all who have emailed asking about how I am doing. I caught a 24 hour stomach virus over the weekend and tonight, it's a new viral thing with my sinus and lungs. *Sigh* The things I bring home from teaching preschool! LOL! If it's not one thing, it's another, eh?
Anyways...
May 5th! What a day of celebrations!
Happy Birthday to Kevin's sister, Kari!
Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone!
Kevin and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary.
Hakone Gardens, Saratoga CA
A friend was asking me about the 1001 cranes that I had folded for my wedding. Well, I had folded 100 gold and silver cranes and Kevin folded one lucky crane. :) For those who don't know about the 1001 cranes, it is a Japanese tradition (and Hawaiian) to fold 1001 cranes for longevity and good luck. These cranes can be strung from a ceiling or they are often arranged in a decorative pattern. I gave mine to a couple of very talented ladies who arranged mine into two large fans (symbolizing respect, friendship, and luck). You can see Kevin's one lucky crane at the bottom.
Ah! Children's Day! It used to be called "Boy's Day" and now it is called "Kodomo no Hi" to celebrate children. Here's a picture my mother took of me a very long time ago on Girl's Day (which is actually on March 3rd).
* This Monday's Fun Day is now closed. *
I have a new Monday's Fun Day, courtesy of Memories Live On!

ReplyDeleteHi Jane, Happy Anniversary! We were married just a few weeks before you...April 12, 2001. Cute wedding photo.
ReplyDeleteMy husband came into my studio the other night and said "What great music. What channel is that?" I said "It's Jane's blog." He was surprised.
I am curious, how long did it take you to fold 1000 cranes? And how big are they? (they look teeny!) Regardless, I am impressed! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jane:)I know Hakone Gardens well, as I grew up near there. What a beautiful wedding picture. Have a very happy anniversary.
